Zcash Gift Cards: Buy Gift Cards With ZEC or Send ZEC as a Gift (2026)
Updated November 4, 2026.
"Zcash gift cards" means two different things. You can spend ZEC on brand gift cards (Amazon, Uber, Steam, and thousands more) at Cake Pay, CoinsBee, or Genghis. Or you can give ZEC itself as a gift card: Vizor creates ZEC gift cards you share as a link. This guide covers both, with the wallet you pay from on your phone.
Quick answer: buy a gift card with ZEC in 5 steps
- Install Vizor for iOS or Android and fund it with ZEC.
- On the gift card site, pick your country, the brand, and the amount.
- At checkout, choose Zcash (ZEC). You get a payment address, an exact ZEC amount, and a time limit.
- In Vizor, tap Send, paste the address or scan the QR code, and enter the exact amount. Confirm.
- Wait for the payment to confirm. The code appears on screen or arrives by email.
Brands like Amazon don't take ZEC directly. A gift card service takes your ZEC and hands you a code you redeem at the brand.

Cake Pay
Cake Pay lists Zcash among the coins it accepts directly. Its docs say cards sell at face value with a small fee to cover crypto conversion, sign-up takes only an email, and a single user can buy up to $5,000 a day. Cake Pay runs inside another wallet app and at cakepay.com. To pay from Vizor, use the website and send to the invoice address.
CoinsBee
CoinsBee has a dedicated ZEC checkout covering gift cards and mobile top-ups, with codes sent by email. Its help center says each purchase gets its own payment address and the invoice expires after 20 minutes.
Genghis
Genghis says it takes ZEC with no account and no KYC at checkout. It's the one service that says what kind of address you pay to: a transparent address. The quote holds for about 20 minutes, but the rate isn't locked.
Not listed: Bitrefill doesn't list ZEC as a payment method; it offers a third-party swap instead. Coincards has been mentioned in Zcash community posts, but its own FAQ and terms don't name ZEC, so check its checkout yourself.
How to buy a gift card with ZEC from Vizor
Every service above uses the same pattern: a one-time address, an exact amount, and a payment window. Here's how to get it right.
- Get ZEC into Vizor. If you're withdrawing from an exchange, see how to send ZEC for which address to use.
- Choose your country honestly. Gift card codes usually only work in the country they were issued for.
- Pick Zcash at checkout and keep the page open. Note the address, the amount, and the timer.
- Send the exact amount. In Vizor, tap Send, paste the address (or scan the QR code if checkout is on your computer), and type the amount exactly as shown. Sending too little can leave the order stuck as underpaid.
- Send once. Each address is for that one order. If the timer runs out, start a new order instead of paying the old one again.
- Save the code and order ID. If something goes wrong, support will ask for the order ID and your transaction ID, which you'll find in Vizor's activity.
Paying from your phone is easiest: browse the store in your mobile browser, copy the address, switch to Vizor, and send.
Privacy: what the merchant and the chain can see
A gift card hides what you actually bought from the blockchain, but it doesn't make the purchase anonymous.
- Pay from a shielded balance. Vizor sends from your shielded balance, so your address, your balance, and your payment history aren't linked to the purchase on chain.
- A transparent checkout address shows its side. If the merchant gives you a
t1address, as Genghis says it does, the chain shows that address and the amount it received. If it gives you a shielded or unified address, the amount stays encrypted too. - TEX addresses. If a checkout ever shows a
tex1address, it's an exchange-style address that has to be paid from transparent funds. Vizor supports these. The payment goes through a one-time transparent address and you pay two network fees. Details are in how to send ZEC. - The merchant still knows your order. They see your email, the card you bought, and usually your IP address. Use an email you're comfortable with. Vizor can route its own wallet traffic through Tor, but that doesn't cover the website you shop on.
- The brand sees the redemption. When you redeem a code on Amazon, Amazon ties it to your account.
The other kind: ZEC gift cards in Vizor
Vizor can turn ZEC itself into a gift card. It's a way to give someone Zcash even if they don't have a wallet yet.
- Create a card with a design, a personal message, and an amount in ZEC or USD, then share it as a link.
- Send to a group. Vizor can fund a batch of cards in one transaction and save all the links as a CSV file, with Ledger and Keystone too.
- Track them. Cards you've created show as pending, unused, or used, so you know when one has been claimed.
- Redeem. The recipient opens the link in Vizor and claims the ZEC into their own account. They can do it while setting up a new wallet or scan a gift card QR code from Settings. Claims are ready after two confirmations.
The person you send it to needs a recent Vizor version, v0.0.57 or newer, to open the link. Treat the link like cash: anyone who has it can claim the ZEC until it's redeemed. To give ZEC for someone to hold long term, point them to how to store ZEC safely.
Vizor doesn't sell brand gift cards and doesn't have in-store tap-to-pay. For Amazon or Uber credit, use one of the services above and pay from Vizor.
Fees
You pay two kinds of cost: the Zcash network fee, which Vizor shows before you confirm (a fraction of a cent for a normal send), and whatever the service charges. Of the three, Cake Pay is the only one that describes its pricing (face value plus a small conversion fee). Compare the ZEC total at checkout with the card's face value before you send.
FAQ
Where can I buy gift cards with Zcash?
Cake Pay, CoinsBee, and Genghis all accept ZEC at checkout as of November 2026. Each one emails or displays a brand gift card code after your payment confirms, and the catalog depends on the country you pick.
Can I pay for gift cards with shielded ZEC?
Yes. You can pay from a shielded balance even when the merchant gives you a transparent address. Your side of the payment stays private, but the merchant's address and the amount are visible on the chain. Genghis states that its checkout address is transparent. Check the address type at checkout for the others.
Do I need KYC to buy gift cards with ZEC?
Cake Pay says you need only an email address, with a $5,000 per day purchase limit. Genghis says there is no KYC at checkout. CoinsBee asks for an email address at checkout and does not state its ID rules on its Zcash page.
Are Zcash gift cards region-locked?
Usually. Brand gift cards are meant to be redeemed in the country they were issued for. Cake Pay asks you to pick your country before browsing, and CoinsBee notes that individual brand codes are often region-locked.
What is a ZEC gift card in Vizor?
It is ZEC itself, packaged as a shareable link with a card design and a personal message. You fund it from your wallet, send the link, and the recipient redeems the ZEC into their own Vizor account.
Can I buy a gift card with ZEC from my phone?
Yes. Open the gift card site in your phone's browser, choose ZEC at checkout, then copy the payment address into Vizor on iOS or Android, or scan the QR code if the checkout is on another screen.
